Delaware's Printed Solid Rebrands to Prusa USA
Printed Solid, the Delaware-based filament manufacturer acquired by Czech Prusa Research in 2022, has been rebranded as Prusa USA, Inc. The name change is described as largely cosmetic, with no changes to daily operations. CEO Josef Prusa remains at the helm of both companies. The company operates a 100,000-square-foot factory in Wilmington, Delaware, producing Original Prusa MK4S and Prusa CORE One+ 3D printers, as well as filament lines. The facility also serves as the U.S. fulfillment center for Amazon sales and the official service center. The rebranding comes amid anti-3D printing legislation in Delaware and elsewhere, which Prusa Research opposes due to its commitment to open source and right to repair. Former Printed Solid CEO David Randolph and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Chris Pelesky have stepped down but remain active in the 3D printing industry.
