Cyclone and Cold Front Expected to Hit Southern and Central Brazil This Weekend

According to forecasts by Meteored, an area of low pressure intensifying over Center-South Brazil will combine with an advancing cold front, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds to the South, Southeast, and Center-West regions. On Saturday, conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly, with drizzle turning into thunderstorms in states like Paraná, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo. By Sunday, the cyclone will consolidate between the coasts of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina before moving toward the Atlantic Ocean, posing risks of flooding and wind gusts in urban and rural areas. The instability will persist into Monday as the cold front continues to affect central Brazil, with São Paulo potentially receiving up to 40 mm of rain, leading to traffic disruptions and flooding. Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso do Sul are also highlighted as areas facing severe weather conditions, including intense storms and overcast skies.
