Colombia FA Considering Former Manchester United Striker Radamel Falcao as Assistant Coach
The Colombian Football Federation (FCF) has proposed former Manchester United and Colombia striker Radamel Falcao as a candidate to join the national team's coaching staff once he retires. The move comes after assistant coach Luis Amaranto Perea left to manage Independiente Medellin. Head coach Nestor Lorenzo, whose contract was recently renewed through the 2030 World Cup, is reportedly open to the idea, though the suggestion originated from federation directors, not Lorenzo. Falcao, 40, recently became a free agent after leaving Colombian side Millonarios and is expected to retire. Despite a disappointing loan spell at Manchester United (4 goals in 29 appearances), Falcao remains Colombia's all-time leading scorer with 36 goals in 104 caps. No formal discussions have yet taken place regarding his role or responsibilities.
