Christina Block's Letter to Expert Witness Raises Obstruction Concerns in Child Abduction Trial

In the Hamburg child abduction trial of Christina Block, the court has excluded the public to protect children and co-plaintiffs. The presiding judge revealed that Block handed a letter written in Romanian to youth psychiatric expert Mareike Schüler-Springorum outside the main hearing. The letter allegedly contains intimate details about co-plaintiff Stephan Hensel, Block's ex-husband and father of the children. Judge Isabel Hildebrandt called it 'an attempt to obstruct the investigation,' and the criminal chamber is examining possible obstruction of justice. Block's lawyer Ingo Bott called it a 'regrettable mistake.' Prosecutor Marvin Steinberg described it as an 'attempted act' but said no arrest warrant would be sought. Block is accused of hiring an Israeli security company to abduct her two youngest children, then aged 10 and 13, from their father's residence in Denmark on New Year's Eve 2023/2024. The children were allegedly beaten, taped, and transported to Germany. Block denies the allegations; six other defendants are also charged.
