Chelsea interested in signing former Manchester City defender John Stones on free transfer
Chelsea are interested in signing England international John Stones on a free transfer after his contract with Manchester City expired at the end of June. The 32-year-old defender, who made 295 appearances for City and won numerous trophies including six Premier League titles and the Champions League, is also being considered by Inter Milan. Chelsea are simultaneously in talks to sign Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix and assessing other options like Como's Jacobo Ramon. To make room in their squad, Chelsea are looking to sell central defenders, with Trevoh Chalobah in talks to join Como and Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile available for transfer. Stones has 93 international caps for England and was part of the squad that finished third at the World Cup.
