Bundesliga Interest Rejected: Magdeburg Top Scorer Zukowski Extends Contract Until 2029
1. FC Magdeburg's top scorer Mateusz Zukowski has signed a contract extension until 2029, rejecting interest from several Bundesliga clubs including Cologne. The 24-year-old Polish forward, who joined from Slask Wrocław in September 2025, has scored 17 goals and provided three assists in 22 competitive matches. Sporting director Peer Jaekel praised Zukowski's development into a leader and role model. Zukowski made his debut for the Polish national team in late May, substituting for Robert Lewandowski. He cited the club's vision, the atmosphere at Avnet Arena, and fan support as reasons for his decision to stay.
