Barcelona to Submit Final Offer for Racing Santander Left-Back Jorge Salinas

According to Diario Sport via Hupu, Barcelona is preparing a final offer for Racing Santander's young left-back Jorge Salinas. The proposal includes a fixed fee of €6 million, €2 million in performance-related add-ons, and the loan of some reserve team players to Racing Santander. Barcelona is unwilling to trigger Salinas' €16 million release clause, which was raised from €8 million after Racing Santander's promotion. The player is keen to join Barcelona and has put other offers, including from Atletico Madrid, on hold. However, negotiations are stalled as Racing Santander insists on full payment of the release clause. Barcelona's sporting department has approved the deal only if the total cost does not exceed €8 million. The club wants to sign Salinas directly for the first team this summer, not loan him out. The deal's progress now depends on pressure from the player and his agent, Jorge Mendes. Racing Santander is interested in loaning Barcelona full-backs like Jofre Torrents, Xavi Espart, or Hector Fort as part of the deal. The transfer is not ruled out but remains far from completion.
