Barcelona has not abandoned the pursuit of Salinas but will not go all out for a player viewed primarily as a future investment. While the club is willing to invest heavily in young talents such as Vitor Roque, it will remain rational in this case. Barcelona hopes to bring the young left-back into the first team, allowing him to develop through playing time, though a price cap has been set on the deal.
