Apple Expands Hearing Aid and Hypertension Features to New Markets
Apple has announced the expansion of key health features for its wearable devices to additional countries. The Hearing Aid feature, which allows AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3 to function as over-the-counter hearing aids for mild to moderate hearing loss, is now available in Italy, Romania, and Czechia. This feature utilizes a personalized hearing profile derived from a Hearing Test to optimize sound levels for music, videos, and calls, while also including Loud Sound Reduction to protect against ambient noise damage. Users must have devices running iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later to access these capabilities. Simultaneously, Apple Watch Hypertension alerts have launched in Israel. This feature notifies users of potential signs of chronic high blood pressure by analyzing heart rate sensor data collected over a 30-day period. The hypertension detection capability is supported on Apple Watch Series 9 and later models, as well as Apple Watch Ultra 2 and later. These updates highlight Apple's continued integration of advanced health monitoring tools into its consumer electronics ecosystem, aiming to provide accessible medical insights to a broader global user base through software updates and hardware compatibility.
