Anthropic Leases xAI's Colossus 1 Supercluster to Ease Compute Bottlenecks

Anthropic has secured a deal to lease the entire Colossus 1 supercomputer from SpaceX, gaining access to over 220,000 GPUs and 30 megawatts of compute capacity. This strategic move aims to alleviate severe inference bottlenecks affecting Claude’s paid ecosystem, enabling higher usage limits and removing peak-hour throttling for subscribers.
