Second Nord Stream Sabotage Suspect Arrested in Croatia
German authorities announced the arrest of Ukrainian national Volodymyr Z. in Croatia for his alleged role in the September 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions. A trained diver, he is accused of placing explosives on the Baltic Sea pipelines using a rented yacht with forged documents. This is the second arrest in the case; he was previously released by Poland after Germany’s extradition request was rejected. The alleged mastermind, Serhij K., was arrested in August 2025. The sabotage halted gas transport, and no one has yet been held accountable.
