The downward spiral continues for the Girondins de Bordeaux. On Tuesday, the DNCG (National Directorate of Management Control), the financial watchdog of French football, announced the club's exclusion from all national competitions.
The DNCG had demanded a contribution of €9 million from the club to balance the budget for the concluded 2025/2026 season and to secure the upcoming season. This sum was ultimately not presented.
Appeal and Potential Relegation
Bordeaux has appealed the decision. However, if the ruling is upheld, the club will play in Régional 1 (the sixth division) next season. This follows two consecutive seasons in National 2 (the fourth division).
