The 2026 World Cup has reached one million fans in stadiums within the first five days of competition, FIFA announced. The milestone was achieved thanks to stadiums operating at 99.5% capacity, with an average attendance of 63,000 spectators per match.
"Wow! 1 million fans in the stadiums," said FIFA President Gianni Infantino in a post on his Instagram account.
Infantino appeared in a photo alongside Aaron Bren, the fan who purchased the one millionth ticket. He added:
"Congratulations to Aaron Bren, who was the one millionth fan at this @fifaworldcup and a huge thank you to all our passionate followers who continue to fill stadiums."
