Shenlong Technology, a newly established subsidiary of Dongfeng Motor and Stellantis Group, has signed a global strategic cooperation agreement with autonomous driving company Momenta. The partnership aims to integrate Momenta's world model-based intelligent driving technology with the chassis and handling expertise of Peugeot, Citroën, and Jeep brands to develop new energy vehicles with advanced driver assistance and Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities. Shenlong Technology CEO Lv Haitao stated the collaboration combines French driving comfort, Jeep's off-road capability, and Chinese physical AI. Momenta CEO Cao Xudong emphasized that intelligence should enhance brand identity rather than erase it. Since completing its business registration on August 17 this year, Shenlong Automotive has moved swiftly to establish its first major technology collaboration.
On September 24, Shenlong Technology officially signed a global strategic cooperation agreement with Momenta. The two parties will engage in long-term, in-depth collaboration focused on user experience, assisted driving, and high-level autonomous driving. Leveraging the chassis tuning expertise of Dongfeng Motor, Stellantis Group, and the Stellantis Group's Jeep brand, the partnership aims to jointly develop new energy vehicles that deliver "aesthetic pleasure, driving pleasure, and peace of mind."
According to a report from China Business News, the global strategic cooperation between Shenlong Technology and Momenta represents not only a deep synergy in intelligent technology but also an innovative exploration of industrial models.
Lyu Haitao, General Manager of Shenlong Technology, stated: "Shenlong Technology's partnership with Momenta is the first strategic-level collaboration in the technology dimension since the establishment of the new company. It is a deep co-creation combining French driving comfort, Jeep's professional off-road capability, and China's leading physical AI capabilities."
"Intelligence should not cause brands to lose their unique identity," said Cao Xudong, CEO of Momenta. "Instead, it should allow brands with distinctive DNA—such as Peugeot and Jeep—to continue their unique French driving dynamics and American off-road character in the intelligent era."
Shenlong Automotive has been deeply rooted in the Chinese market for 34 years. The Peugeot and Citroën brands are known for their distinctive handling and design advantages, while the Jeep brand carries a legacy of professional off-road capability and all-terrain chassis tuning. The integration of multi-brand chassis assets will provide unique support for this intelligent collaboration.
Shenlong Technology stated: "In the future, the two parties will carry out global strategic cooperation, covering mass-production high-level intelligent assisted driving solutions and the development and deployment of L3 autonomous driving technologies. Several new energy vehicle models will be equipped with Momenta's leading world model and will undergo continuous iterative updates."
According to Shenlong Technology, new products are planned to be launched starting in 2027, covering multiple powertrain types including pure electric and plug-in hybrid, and addressing diverse scenarios such as off-road driving, urban commuting, and family travel. "The two parties will engage in global strategic cooperation, and the jointly developed models will enter European and global markets."
