On September 28, eight exchange-traded funds (ETFs) were simultaneously listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX), including the first three ETFs tracking HKEX cross-market indices. Hong Kong, September 28 – The Hong Kong Exchange (HKEX, 00388) today saw the simultaneous listing of 8 exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including the first three ETFs tracking HKEX cross-market indices.
Bonnie Chan, Chief Executive of HKEX, described the launch of cross-market index tracking as a significant milestone for the exchange's index business. "The ETFs listed today broaden investors' tools and product choices, further driving the vitality of the ecosystem," she said.
Chan added that HKEX will continue to expand its index business, strengthen collaboration with exchange partners and industry participants, and promote product development and innovation to offer a more diverse range of investment tools to the market.
First Batch of Cross-Market Index ETFs
The three ETFs tracking HKEX cross-market indices listed today are:
- Dacheng Galaxy HK-Malaysia Large Cap ETF (03143)
- GF HK-US Tech ETF (03599)
- Huatai Yingke HK-Korea Semiconductor Index ETF (03569)
All three are "60/40 ETFs," meaning they invest 60% in Hong Kong stocks and 40% in overseas assets.

In addition, Hang Seng AI Evolution ETF (03438), Hong Kong's first pure Hong Kong stock AI-themed ETF, also began trading today.
Regional Exchange Partners Comment
Datuk Fadzil Mohamed, Chief Executive of Bursa Malaysia, welcomed the launch of the Dacheng International ETF tracking the HKEX-Bursa Malaysia Large Cap Index. He noted that this marks the first investment product based on the joint-branded benchmark index, adding that the development will help raise the profile of Malaysian companies among investors in Hong Kong and mainland China, while further promoting broader cooperation between the two exchanges and strengthening regional market connectivity.
Buyeon Yi, Head of the Future Business Division at Korea Exchange, expressed delight at the listing of an ETF tracking the HKEX-Korea Exchange Semiconductor Index. He described it as the first joint index launched through collaboration between the two exchanges. "This demonstrates how both exchanges can leverage their expertise in market operations and index development to foster cross-market cooperation and support investors in regional asset allocation," Yi said.
