Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has invested $100 million in stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Group (NYSE: CRCL), according to a regulatory filing. Binance purchased 1,237,011 shares of Circle's Class A common stock at $80.84 per share, a price 5% below the market rate at closing. The deal includes a new five-year commercial agreement, effective September 17, 2026, for Binance to promote Circle's USDC stablecoin on its platform. Circle will pay Binance a monthly fee based on a portion of USDC balances. The agreement prevents Binance from selling, pledging, or hedging its shares for two years or until it exits the commercial deal under specified conditions. This arrangement builds on similar payment-for-promotion deals between the companies since 2024. Binance CEO Richard Teng stated, 'Our $100 million investment and five-year commitment represent long-duration conviction.' Circle's stock rose 2% on the news, though CRCL has declined 11% since its public listing in June 2025. Binance remains privately held.
