On September 21, Unitree Technology released its latest dexterous hand product, the Dex5-S, priced from 39,900 yuan. The hand is a 1:1 scale replica of a human hand, featuring 22 joints that can all be back-driven, each with built-in impact torque protection. According to Unitree, the Dex5-S has been upgraded in terms of degrees of freedom (DoF) and size. Key specifications include:

Previously, on April 1, 2025, Unitree had released the Unitree Dex5, a new-generation biomimetic robotic hand. That model featured 20 degrees of freedom per hand, smooth and compliant backdrivability (direct force control), and 94 sensitive contact points per hand. It was capable of performing delicate tasks such as grasping an orange, playing cards, solving a Rubik's Cube, and flipping through a book.
