miHoYo Reports Two Employee Bribery Cases, Suspects Arrested and Blacklisted

On September 21, MiHoYo issued an anti-corruption notice, announcing that two major cases of employee bribery involving suppliers had been confirmed during a recent special investigation. The investigations remain ongoing. The details are as follows:

Case Details

Case 1: Former International Team Employee – Sun

During his employment, Sun exploited his position to include relevant suppliers as partners and accepted bribes and kickbacks from those suppliers during project execution, thereby obtaining improper benefits. The amount involved has already far exceeded the threshold for criminal prosecution, and the case is considered serious.

Case 2: Former Merchandise Team Employee – Cheng

Since joining the company, Cheng had long exploited his position to bring multiple suppliers into the company's partnership system, repeatedly accepting bribes and kickbacks from these suppliers over an extended period. This case involves a large number of suppliers and employs covert operational methods. The amount involved far exceeds the statutory threshold for "especially huge amounts" as defined in the Criminal Law and relevant judicial interpretations, making it the most severe instance of this offense, which will result in extremely serious criminal consequences.

Actions Taken Against the Individuals Involved

• Sun and Cheng have been lawfully arrested by public security authorities. The cases will be transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution.
• The company has terminated their labor contracts and added them to the "Sunshine Integrity Alliance Blacklist" and the "Corporate Anti-Fraud Alliance," with a lifetime ban on re-employment.
• Both individuals are prohibited from engaging in any form of business dealings with the company or its affiliated entities.

Actions Taken Against the Suppliers and Responsible Parties

• The responsible persons of the suppliers involved in the two cases are under investigation by public security authorities for allegedly offering bribes to non-state functionaries.
• All suppliers implicated in commercial bribery, improper benefit transfers, or conflicts of interest have been added to the "Supplier Blacklist for Fraud," with permanent termination of all business relationships.
• As the investigation progresses, the blacklist will be updated if additional suppliers are found to be involved.
