Operators must complete rectification within 15 working days and submit status reports; the CAC will coordinate verification and take disciplinary actions based on outcomes.

Beijing, September 20 (Jin10 Data) — The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), jointly with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), has released the "Announcement on Launching a Series of Special Actions for Personal Information Protection in 2026." Based on laws and regulations including the Cybersecurity Law, the Personal Information Protection Law, the Regulations on Network Data Security Management, and the Methods for Determining Illegal and Non-Compliant Collection and Use of Personal Information by Apps, the CAC conducted inspections of personal information collection and usage practices by apps (including mini-programs). The following issues have been identified:
- Six apps, including FlowFit and Skateboard Recitation, failed to publicly disclose their rules for collecting and using personal information.
- Four apps, including iNAPCare and Chinese-English Translation Master, forcibly or frequently requested non-essential permissions.
- Nine apps, including GPS Field Area Meter and ROI Calculator, failed to fully and accurately list the circumstances of personal information collection and use.
- Eleven apps, including Hongjuan Le Du and Daochen Smart Transport, failed to provide effective account deletion functions.
Operators of the affected apps must complete rectification within 15 working days from the date of this report and submit the rectification status to the CAC. The CAC will coordinate with relevant departments to conduct verification and take disciplinary actions in accordance with laws and regulations based on the rectification outcomes.
