A report by Die Welt states that Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev, who has ties to Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, partially covered the wedding expenses of Donald Trump Jr. and his wife Bettina Anderson, held in May. Bettina Anderson admitted this in an Instagram post on Monday. Democratic House leader Hakeem Jeffries described the revelation as 'concerning' and linked it to what he called 'unprecedented corruption brought upon the American people by the Trump cartel.' Jeffries stated that if Democrats win the House majority in the autumn congressional elections, they will launch a comprehensive investigation and increase government oversight, vowing to 'hold all scoundrels accountable' from the first day of the new legislative term.

A Russian oligarch with ties to Vladimir Putin reportedly covered part of the wedding expenses for Donald Trump Jr., the son of U.S. President Donald Trump. The revelation has drawn sharp criticism from Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries.
Democratic Response
Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, described the situation as "concerning." His remarks came after Bettina Anderson (39), now the wife of Donald Trump Jr. (48), admitted in an Instagram post on Monday that Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev had funded a portion of the couple's wedding expenses in May. Kremlev is known to have connections to Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.
When asked about the background of the event, Jeffries stated: "Of course, that is concerning."
Investigation and Oversight
Democrats have announced plans for a comprehensive investigation and increased government oversight should they win the majority in the House of Representatives during the autumn congressional elections.
Jeffries said that, as with other aspects of the "unprecedented corruption brought upon the American people by the Trump cartel," action will be taken against those responsible from the first day of the new legislative term. "We will hold all scoundrels accountable," he added.
