CDU Secretary General Franziska Hoppermann has accused Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's Minister President Manuela Schwesig of weakening the political center overall with an election campaign heavily tailored to herself.
"Manuela Schwesig places her party-political interests above the interests of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern," Hoppermann told the German Press Agency. "Her attempt to keep the CDU small through a personalized election campaign weakens the political center and ultimately helps the AfD." This is "irresponsible."
