Stan Kroenke, through Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE), has agreed to purchase a controlling stake in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from the Moreno family. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, with terms undisclosed. KSE, valued at over $26 billion in CNBC's 2026 list of the world's most valuable sports empires, already owns the NFL's Los Angeles Rams, NBA's Denver Nuggets, NHL's Colorado Avalanche, MLS's Colorado Rapids, NLL's Colorado Mammoth, and Premier League's Arsenal FC. KSE also owns SoFi Stadium and the Hollywood Park district in Inglewood, California. The acquisition gives KSE a presence in nearly every major professional sport and deepens its footprint in the Los Angeles market. Outgoing owner Arte Moreno stated the family was honored to steward the Angels for 23 years and believes KSE is the best next owner for the franchise.
