Verizon partners with Google Cloud for enterprise AI and infrastructure deployment

Verizon and Google Cloud announced a strategic partnership on August 24, 2026, under which Verizon will deploy Google Cloud's full-stack AI, including its data infrastructure and Gemini Enterprise, to modernize customer experiences, unify data, and scale AI across the enterprise. The deal expands their longstanding collaboration and aims to break down data silos, create uniform processes, and accelerate AI adoption. Verizon plans to use Gemini's conversational capabilities for customer service automation, build an autonomous network intelligence framework to predict and resolve network anomalies, strengthen cloud security and threat detection, modernize marketing platforms, and deploy AI agents via Google's Agentic Data Cloud. The partnership comes as Verizon seeks to retain customers after net losses in 2024 and 2025, and as telecom operators face rising data traffic and slow revenue growth. Verizon CEO Dan Schulman called AI infrastructure build-out 'one of the largest capital cycles of our lifetime.'
