FinanceKlaus-Michael Kühne, the German logistics billionaire and chairman of Kühne + Nagel, has died at the age of 89, according to consistent media reports from Handelsblatt and Manager Magazin citing his inner circle. Kühne had recently returned from Mallorca to his Swiss residence in Schindellegi ten days ago and received medical treatment due to his poor condition. He expanded the family business, co-founded by his grandfather in 1890, into a global logistics giant. Kühne also held significant stakes in shipping company Hapag-Lloyd and airline Lufthansa, and was known as a sports patron, notably as an investor in Hamburger SV (HSV).
