Pakistan opposition PTI demands immediate cardiac care for Imran Khan at Shifa Hospital

Pakistan's opposition party, PTI, has demanded immediate cardiac care for jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan at Shifa International Hospital, alleging that a recommended CT Coronary Angiography was not performed during his recent visit to a government hospital (PIMS). The party condemned the 'continued failure' of authorities, noting that a cardiologist had recommended the test due to Khan's age, fluctuating blood pressure, and potential cardiac risks. PTI claims authorities bypassed a Supreme Court directive for Khan's treatment at Shifa International. In response, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formed an inquiry committee to investigate the matter. PTI has rejected government assertions of adequate medical care and insists on Khan's immediate transfer to Shifa International Hospital.
