FinanceZcash (ZEC) reached an 8-year high on August 22, 2026, after Grayscale filed a fifth amended registration with the SEC for a proposed Zcash ETF. The amendment sets the sponsor's fee at 2.5% annually and renames the trust to The Zcash ETF, with shares to list on NYSE Arca under ZCSH. Grayscale pledged to direct 100% of the fee toward marketing and development for up to 12 months. Coinbase Custody Trust Company will hold the tokens, and Bank of New York Mellon serves as transfer agent. ZEC surged 34% in 24 hours, crossing $800 for the first time since January 2018, and touched an intraday high of $857. The rally follows a June security flaw in Zcash's shielded pools that caused a 50% price drop before an emergency fix.
