FinanceFR8 Solutions and 22 independent drivers have settled a federal civil RICO lawsuit in which the drivers accused the company of altering rate sheets and hiding revenue from hauled loads. The drivers, who were promised 88% of each load's linehaul rate, claimed FR8 understated revenue on settlement statements and dispatch documents, reducing their percentage-based pay. One disputed shipment showed a $7,000 difference between the rate displayed to drivers ($8,000) and what FR8 allegedly received ($15,000). A Florida court dismissed the case with prejudice on July 28 after both sides filed a joint notice of settlement. The financial terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Earlier, Judge William Young had rejected FR8's motion to dismiss, allowing claims to proceed. FR8 Solutions, based in Jacksonville, Florida, reports 65 power units and 78 drivers, and markets brokerage, transportation, and cross-border services.
