Raytheon awarded $22.9 bln, 7-year contract to accelerate Tomahawk missile production

Raytheon has been awarded an unprecedented $22.9 billion, 7-year contract by the U.S. Department of War to dramatically accelerate production of Tomahawk cruise missiles for the U.S. Navy. The contract, part of the Arsenal of Freedom initiative, aims to ramp annual production to over 1,000 missiles and associated support. RTX (Raytheon's parent company) delivered three times more Tomahawks in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. The company is investing heavily in workforce, technology, supply chain, and facilities to meet surging demand. Tomahawk missiles are described as the Navy's most important strike weapon, providing long-range, proven capabilities against high-value targets from various launch platforms, and the contract ensures stable supply for both the Navy and allied nations.
