TechOpenAI and CodeAI have announced a signature partnership to help students build AI literacy, think critically about AI, and develop skills to use it responsibly. The partnership coincides with the launch of ChatGPT for Teens, a dedicated experience with built-in protections and parental controls. Over the next year, the collaboration will focus on practical programs including a joint advisory council on child development and youth policy, the Hour of AI to introduce millions of students to AI basics, the Builders Challenge for high school students to create with AI and receive mentorship from OpenAI team members, support for CodeAI's free AI Foundations course, and Career Journeys where students hear from OpenAI researchers. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between AI use and understanding, as only 16% of high school leaders say all students learn technical AI knowledge, while 75% of students believe understanding AI will be more important for their futures.
