ConflictNATO Allies have condemned recent airspace violations involving Poland and Romania, blaming Russia for what the Alliance described as dangerous and unacceptable activity. The North Atlantic Council met on 12 August to discuss the incidents and their security implications. In a statement, NATO said Russia bears full responsibility for the violations, which demonstrate Moscow's increasing tolerance for risk. The Alliance pledged further measures to strengthen integrated air and missile defences across the eastern flank. NATO also reaffirmed its unwavering support for Ukraine, stating that Ukraine's security contributes to the security of the Alliance as a whole and that the incidents will not weaken their commitment to Kyiv.
