FinanceFedEx is permanently closing five facilities in Missouri and California, affecting 316 workers, as part of its Network 2.0 overhaul. The closures in Earth City and St. Louis, Missouri, and Palm Springs, Victorville, and San Diego, California, are set for late August and September 2026. This multiyear effort combines historically separate Express and Ground operations to eliminate overlapping facilities and routes, creating a denser, more efficient delivery network. FedEx expects Network 2.0 to generate an additional $2 billion in savings in fiscal 2027. A review by TheStreet identified at least 762 workers affected across 16 FedEx locations or workforce actions in seven states so far in 2026. Affected employees may receive transfers, severance, or leave of absence.
