According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez will not join Juventus this summer. Juventus had submitted a new offer and narrowed the fee gap, with personal terms agreed, but ultimately decided to abandon the deal and pursue other targets. Meanwhile, Aston Villa has agreed to sign Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki for a base fee of €30 million, viewing him as their first-choice goalkeeper for the 2026-27 season. Martinez, who signed a five-year contract extension in 2024, remains a key player for Villa, having made 44 appearances last season and helping the team secure fourth place in the Premier League and win the Europa Conference League. Villa will return to the Champions League this season, while Juventus will compete in the Europa League.
