Acertus acquires Fisher Shipping to expand finished vehicle logistics network

Acertus, a finished vehicle transportation provider based in Overland Park, Kansas, has acquired Fisher Shipping, an Auburn, Massachusetts-based automotive logistics company. The acquisition expands Acertus' network of carriers and customers, and strengthens its relationships with OEMs and dealers. Financial terms were not disclosed. Fisher Shipping will continue to operate under its existing brand and leadership, with CEO Dave Fisher receiving an equity interest in Acertus and managing customer and commercial relationships for the combined organization. The deal provides Fisher Shipping access to Acertus' fraud prevention and real-time shipment visibility platform. The announcement follows another major acquisition in the sector, where Proficient Auto Logistics agreed to acquire Hansen & Adkins for $130 million, highlighting a trend toward consolidation in the car haul industry to gain scale, capacity, and technological sophistication.
