TechRheinmetall announced the successful launch of its Loitering Munition System FV-014 from the Containerized Missile Launcher (CML) during a customer demonstration at the National Test Center for Unmanned Aerial Systems of the German Aerospace Center. The FV-014 was launched from a standstill and while in motion from a Rheinmetall HX truck, completing various simulated mission profiles and attack flights. The system combines reconnaissance, target identification, and precision effects with an operational range of up to 100 kilometers and a flight duration of up to 70 minutes. It features modern sensors, network capability, and high robustness against GNSS interference. The launcher can accommodate up to 18 FV-014 units depending on container configuration. The 22-kilogram munition carries a 6-kilogram HEDP warhead capable of penetrating over 60 centimeters of solid armor steel, effective against armored and unarmored targets as well as infrastructure. Control is via a ground station with a permanent human-in-the-loop concept.
