PoliticsCount Binface, a self-styled intergalactic warrior and novelty candidate, claimed victory in the Clacton by-election after securing his best ever result. He received 9,455 votes (27% of the total), finishing second behind Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, who won with a majority of 12,784. However, Farage did not attend the result declaration, allowing Binface to claim he was the 'winning candidate of those who bothered to turn up.' Binface's vote share was a massive increase from his previous best of 308 votes in Rishi Sunak's Richmond constituency in 2024, and from 95 votes in Makerfield eight weeks earlier. In a video on X, Binface celebrated his performance, noting that over one in four voters in Clacton preferred him over Farage.
