Acertus, a finished vehicle transportation provider based in Overland Park, Kansas, has acquired Fisher Shipping, an Auburn, Massachusetts-based automotive logistics company. The acquisition expands Acertus's carrier network and customer base, strengthening its relationships with OEMs and dealers. Fisher Shipping will continue to operate under its existing brand and leadership, with CEO Dave Fisher receiving an equity interest in Acertus and managing customer and commercial relationships for the combined organization. The deal provides Fisher Shipping access to Acertus's platform offering fraud prevention and real-time shipment visibility. Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition follows another major consolidation in the sector, with Proficient Auto Logistics agreeing to acquire Hansen & Adkins for $130 million, highlighting a broader industry trend toward consolidation to gain scale, capacity, and technological sophistication.
