Reliance Industries and Rolls-Royce form JV to develop combat engine for India's AMCA

Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) and Rolls-Royce have announced a strategic joint venture to design, develop, manufacture, and deliver a sovereign, indigenous combat engine for India's Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme. The partnership also includes plans to establish a dedicated Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex in India, serving as a centre of excellence for power and propulsion technology. The collaboration aims to combine Rolls-Royce's advanced propulsion expertise with RIL's manufacturing and execution capabilities to build an indigenous aero-engine ecosystem, enhancing India's strategic autonomy and self-reliance in critical defense technologies. The companies also see potential for wider collaborations across defence, civil aerospace, and new power systems.
