TechDuring the U.S. Navy's Lanternfish 2026 exercise, Ultra Maritime demonstrated an integrated passive-active sonar architecture combining its Sea Spear passive array and SSQ-125B active sonobuoy to detect and track unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs). The demonstration validates Ultra Maritime's acoustic architecture for autonomous counter-UUV and anti-submarine warfare (ASW). The SSQ-125B is the only active sonobuoy of its kind, designed exclusively by Ultra Maritime. The scalable solution can be configured for port protection, maritime choke point security, expeditionary operations, and long-duration surveillance. This advances the company's Ocean of Things vision for a distributed, intelligent network of autonomous underwater sensors deployable from manned and unmanned platforms.
