SportsBarcelona winger Roony Bardghji, a 20-year-old Swedish international, has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture in his right knee. The club confirmed on Wednesday that he underwent successful surgery at Hospital de Barcelona performed by Dr. Joan Carles Monllau under the supervision of the club's medical services. Bardghji made 28 first-team appearances for Hansi Flick's side last season, scoring two goals and registering four assists. He could miss the majority of the upcoming season due to the injury. This is not his first serious knee problem; he had a 334-day absence from first-team action at previous club Copenhagen due to an injury in May 2024. Bardghji was expected to leave Barcelona on loan this summer due to limited playing time following the arrivals of Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon, but will now stay at the club to recover. He has three caps for Sweden but was not included in their squad for the 2026 World Cup finals.
