EntertainmentThe U.S. Navy announced Operation Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), a program delivering free live entertainment to 50 military installations through April 2027. The initiative aims to help service members and their families relax, reduce stress, and build community. The concert series kicked off on August 8, 2026, at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island with performances by Fitz and The Tantrums and Alana Springsteen. Upcoming shows include Teddy Swims with Miranda Lambert at Naval Station Norfolk on August 29, 2026; DJ Diesel (Shaquille O'Neal) at Naval Station Great Lakes on October 17, 2026; and other acts at installations in Indiana, New York, California, and Florida. Vice Adm. Scott Gray emphasized the program's role in strengthening support networks and sustaining resilience. No advance registration is required, but admission may be first-come, first-served at venues with limited space.
