SportsLiverpool fan group Spirit of Shankly has called on the club to explain the implications of a proposed £1.35 billion investment from a billionaire consortium including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, and former QPR executive Amit Bhatia. The consortium is close to acquiring a 30% stake in Liverpool from current owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG), who will retain control. The fan group sent a letter in late July seeking details on the timeline, what buyers would receive (board seats, dividends, etc.), whether further share sales are planned, and what due diligence was conducted. They also requested a meeting with the club, citing concerns about changes seen at other clubs after similar share sales. Liverpool has indicated it will meet with the fan committee if negotiations become more formal. Sources emphasize that no final agreement has been reached.
