FinanceHome Depot CEO Ted Decker is taking a temporary medical leave of absence expected to last a few months, the retailer announced on Wednesday. Two senior executives—Ann-Marie Campbell, senior executive vice president of U.S. stores and operations, and Richard McPhail, chief financial officer—will assume Decker's responsibilities during his absence. Campbell will oversee day-to-day operations, while McPhail will handle financial management and the Pro business. Lead independent director Greg Brenneman will serve as board chair during the leave. The appointments were made by the board in alignment with Decker's recommendation. The announcement comes less than a week before Home Depot's fiscal second-quarter earnings report on Tuesday. No further details on Decker's condition were provided. Both Campbell and McPhail will not receive additional compensation for their expanded roles.
