Tom Holland's 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' has become the highest-grossing Hollywood film ever released in India, surpassing James Cameron's 'Avatar: The Way of Water'. According to Sony Pictures, the film earned $52.8 million (approximately ₹440 crore) in India after its second weekend, adding $10.6 million during that weekend alone to overtake the previous record. Released in India on July 30, 2026, one day ahead of its US release, the film benefited from strong advance bookings and demand across English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions. It crossed the ₹500 crore gross mark in India by its 12th day. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film follows Peter Parker after the events of 'No Way Home' and features a cast including Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando, and Sadie Sink. The film also crossed $1 billion internationally within 12 days, placing it among the fastest films to reach that figure outside North America.
