PoliticsPresident Donald Trump continues to assert that the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was vandalized, even after D.C. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro admitted in court that it was not. Speaking to reporters in Los Angeles, Trump defended the renovation contractor and claimed there is video evidence and witnesses of major vandalism, though no such tape was mentioned in charging documents and the DOJ's main witness actually undermined the case. The charges against all accused, including former Olympian David Hearn, were dropped. The pool's damage was caused by hydrogen peroxide used by contractor Greenwater Services to kill algae, which caused Trump's personally chosen 'American flag blue' paint to peel. Trump's comments follow a reported screaming match at the White House with Pirro and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum over the case.
