SportsAccording to L'Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi, Argentine international Facundo Medina is set to leave Olympique de Marseille and join German club Bayer Leverkusen. The two clubs have agreed on a transfer deal totaling approximately €25 million, comprising a €23 million fixed fee and €2 million in bonuses. The 27-year-old defender has already agreed on personal terms with Leverkusen and is expected to sign a five-year contract after his holiday. The transfer is reported to improve Marseille's financial situation. Medina, primarily a left center-back in a three-man defense, also performed well as a left-back during the World Cup.
