TechRaytheon, an RTX business, has delivered and installed the first SPY-6(V)4 radar array at the Surface Combat Systems Center at Wallops Island, Virginia. This marks a major milestone as land-based testing commences ahead of the backfit deployment on the US Navy Flight IIA destroyer USS Pinckney (DDG 91). The SPY-6(V)4 is a variant of the advanced radar system designed to enhance the ship's air and missile defense capabilities. The installation at the test site allows for comprehensive evaluation before integration onto the vessel.
