McDonald's names Skye Anderson president of McDonald's USA

McDonald's has appointed Skye Anderson as the new president of McDonald's USA, effective immediately. Anderson, who previously served as the company's chief operating officer, replaces Joe Erlinger, who is leaving after more than two decades with the company. The leadership change comes as McDonald's seeks to boost sluggish U.S. sales, with same-store sales rising only 0.8% in the second quarter. CEO Chris Kempczinski stated that Anderson's appointment will bring focus and urgency to accelerate performance in the company's largest market. Anderson has held various roles at McDonald's, including leading Global Business Services and serving as president of the West Zone, where she oversaw 5,700 restaurants and achieved over 30% same-store sales growth over four years. She will be tasked with implementing McDonald's Next, a corporate strategy aimed at making the chain more consistent and appealing to a broader consumer base. Erlinger will remain as an advisor until early 2027 to ensure a smooth transition.
