Official: US midfielder Giovanni Reyna joins Strasbourg for €4 million

Strasbourg officially announced the signing of US international attacking midfielder Giovanni Reyna on August 4th. The 23-year-old has signed a contract until 2031, with a transfer fee of €4 million. Reyna began his career at New York City FC's academy before moving to Borussia Dortmund at age 16. Over six seasons at Dortmund, he made 147 appearances, scoring 19 goals and providing 18 assists, winning the DFB-Pokal in 2021. He also gained Champions League experience with 27 appearances and 5 assists. In summer 2025, he transferred to Borussia Mönchengladbach, playing 20 matches in the 2025-2026 season. Internationally, Reyna has earned 43 caps for the US national team since his debut at age 18, scoring 10 goals. He participated in his second World Cup this summer and scored in the US team's victory over Paraguay.
