TechRheinmetall has unveiled the GMF140, a next-generation 140-meter, 6,000+ tonne guided missile frigate designed for modern naval warfare. The vessel features the AEGIS Combat System, 64 Strike-Length Vertical Launch System (VLS) cells, and advanced anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capabilities. It is optimized for blue-water operations and can integrate US-sourced radar options for air and ballistic missile defense. Rheinmetall is initially targeting a procurement project in North America, with potential sales to other allied navies seeking a highly interoperable, future-ready surface combatant. The frigate is designed to meet NATO requirements and can also be offered with the Lockheed Martin CMS330 Combat Management System.
