Chelsea has signed former England international striker Danny Welbeck from Premier League rival Brighton on a two-year contract. The 35-year-old, who has 42 caps for England, will immediately travel to Hong Kong to join head coach Xabi Alonso and his new teammates for pre-season training. Welbeck expressed pride in joining Chelsea, citing the club's trophy-winning history and ambition. No transfer fee was disclosed. Welbeck, who began his career at Manchester United and also played for Arsenal and Watford before joining Brighton in 2020, brings extensive Premier League and Champions League experience, including two World Cup campaigns.
